IMSA: No. 7 Porsche Penske Motorsport sweeps season championships

Porsche Penske Motorsport’s No. 7 Dane Cameron and Felipe Nasr swept the 2024 GTP drivers’ and teams’ championship with the support of Michelin tires following an exciting Motul Petit Le Mans.

“We’ve had a spectacular year in car seven and for Porsche Penske Motorsport,” said Cameron. “To start off the year with a win at Daytona, which is a first for me, and to close it out with my fourth championship in IMSA is really amazing.”

Cameron and Nasr started the season on top after securing a victory at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. They carried that momentum through the year with another win at Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen and several podium finishes.

“So a second championship for me now on Michelin tires,” said Cameron. “A great part of IMSA is the different types of circuits, weather conditions, all these things. It’s been a pleasure all year to work with Michelin.”

The No. 7 also clinched the Michelin Endurance Cup championship, adding to the program’s dominance this year. This is Cameron’s fourth IMSA Championship and Nasr’s third WeatherTech Championship title.
