Michelin's association with the FIA WEC's Hypercars extended until 2032
Having played a key role in topflight endurance racing for many decades, and having been involved in the FIA WEC since its launch in 2012, Michelin is to continue as exclusive tire supplier to the sport's premier-class Hypercars until 2032.
Michelin has long seen motorsport in general and endurance racing in particular as a means to accelerate technological innovation, a claim backed by its latest MICHELIN Pilot Sport Endurance slicks for the FIA WEC's Hypercars. These new tires contain 50 percent renewable/recycled materials and dovetail perfectly with Groupe Michelin's policy to make all of its tires entirely from sustainable raw materials by 2050.
The performance, consistency and longevity of these slicks helped Michelin to notch up a record-breaking 35th victory at last June's Le Mans 24 Hours. They have also showcased their winning credentials at the other three rounds of the 2026 FIA WEC organized to date, in Italy, Belgium and Brazil.
This ongoing determination to innovate and explore new ground has been rewarded by the decision of the ACO (Automobile Club de l'Ouest) and FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) to extend Michelin's exclusive supply agreement for the FIA WEC's exciting Hypercar prototypes until 2032.
This year, no fewer than eight premium carmakers (Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Genesis, Peugeot and Toyota) are officially involved in the category. All of them compete on Michelin tires, and McLaren and Ford are poised to join the fray from 2027.
At the same time, Michelin will continue as exclusive tire supplier to North America's IMSA WeatherTeach SportsCar Championship, providing the same Pilot Sport Endurance tires for the series' GTP prototypes (equivalent to the FIA WEC's Hypercars) until 2035.
